Edmonson, Superintendent News Release Date: June 16, 2008 Pineville Man Killed In Crash On Monday, June 16, 2008, at 4:34 pm, Louisiana State Police Troop E responded to a fatal crash involving one vehicle. The crash occurred on LA Hwy 453, milepost 1.4, in Avoyelles Parish. The crash involved a 1993 Chevrolet pickup, driven by Mr. Edward E. Bringold (W/M 55 yrs) of Pineville, LA. The Chevrolet was north bound on LA Hwy 453 when Mr. Bringold ran off the left side of the roadway and collided with a mailbox and then a culvert. The vehicle came to rest in the south bound ditch. Mr. Bringold was pronounced dead. Avoyelles Parish Coroner’s Office will conduct an investigation to determine the exact cause of death. Mr. Bringold was not wearing his seatbelt. Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation. Troop E Troopers have investigated 26 fatal crashes for the year of 2008, resulting in 29 fatalities. Three of the 26 fatal crashes have involved pedestrians. Four fatal crashes have involved an ATV and two have involved a motorcycle. Twelve of the 17 fatal crashes (passenger vehicles only) have involved unrestrained motorists/occupants. Seatbelt use is unknown in one fatal crash. Four fatal victims were restrained.
