Edmonson, Superintendent News Release Date: February 12, 2010 Texas Resident Killed In Crash Yesterday evening, a crash involving one vehicle killed a man from Tyler, TX. Troopers responded to the crash around 6:49 pm, which occurred on LA Hwy 117 near the Natchitoches/Vernon Parish line in Natchitoches Parish. The crash involved a 2005 Dodge pickup, driven by Leo E. Jones Jr. (W/M 65 yrs). The Dodge was north bound on LA Hwy 117 when Jones Jr. lost control and exited the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the vehicle collided with a tree. Jones Jr. was pronounced dead. Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation. Troop E Troopers have investigated seven fatal crashes for the year of 2010, resulting in eight fatalities.
