Edmonson, Superintendent News Release Date: February 17, 2010 Dry Prong Woman Killed In Crash Earlier today, a crash involving two vehicles killed a woman from Dry Prong, LA. Troopers responded to the crash around 11:00 am, which occurred on LA Hwy 123 east of US Hwy 167 in Grant Parish. The crash involved a 2000 Hyundai Elantra, driven by Tina Hill (W/F 40 yrs) of Dry Prong, LA and a 2005 Dodge van, driven by Thelma Garbrecht (W/F 43 yrs) of Pollock, LA. The Hyundai was south bound on LA Hwy 123 when Hill lost control and crossed the centerline. After crossing the centerline, the Hyundai collided with the north bound Dodge. Hill was not wearing her seatbelt and was pronounced dead. Garbrecht was wearing her seatbelt and was not injured. Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation. Troop E Troopers have investigated ten fatal crashes for the year of 2010, resulting in twelve fatalities.
