Edmonson, Superintendent News Release Date: February 4, 2010 Rapides Parish Fatal Crash Earlier today, a crash involving one vehicle killed a woman from Elizabeth, LA. Troopers responded to the crash around 7:30 am, which occurred on LA Hwy 112 at the Rapides/Allen Parish line. The crash involved a 2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser, driven by Jason B. Mancil (W/M 29 yrs) of Elizabeth, LA. The Chrysler was east bound on LA Hwy 112 when Mancil lost control and exited the left side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the vehicle collided with a tree. Mancil was not wearing his seatbelt and sustained minor injuries. He was transported to Oakdale Hospital for treatment. His only passenger, identified as Deborah C. Parker (W/F 28 yrs), was not wearing her seatbelt and was pronounced dead. The crash remains under investigation. Mancil was cited for Careless Operation. Troop E Troopers have investigated five fatal crashes for the year of 2010, resulting in six fatalities.
