| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE Colonel Michael D. Edmonson, Superintendent News Release Date: January 17, 2010 LaSalle Parish Fatal Crash Earlier today, a single vehicle crash in LaSalle Parish claimed the life of an Olla woman. Troopers responded to the crash around 2:30 pm, which occurred on LA Hwy 459 near LA Hwy 3071. The crash involved a 1999 Nissan Maxima, driven by Donna W. Sharp (W/F 54 yrs). The Nissan was north bound on LA Hwy 459 when Sharp lost control and exited the right side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the vehicle collided with two trees before overturning and then collided with another tree before coming to rest. Sharp was not wearing her seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene. Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation. Troop E Troopers have investigated four fatal crashes for the year of 2010, resulting in five fatalities.
