Edmonson, Superintendent News Release Date: July 2, 2010 Natchitoches Parish Fatal Crash An Arkansas man has died in a single vehicle crash in Natchitoches Parish. Louisiana State Police Troop E Troopers responded to the crash at about 1:00 pm today. The investigation revealed that a 1994 Ford Explorer was traveling east on LA Hwy 120, approximately nine miles north of LA Hwy 6, when it ran off the right side of the road in a curve. After leaving the roadway, the Explorer entered a ditch and the driver then over-corrected back to the left as he attempted to re-enter the roadway. The Explorer then began to rotate to the left and ultimately rolled over coming to rest on its passenger side. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was not wearing a seat belt and was partially ejected from the vehicle in the crash. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by the Natchitoches Parish Coroner's Office. Impairment is not suspected, but routine toxicology tests are pending. The name of the driver is being withheld pending notification of the next-of-kin. Troop E Troopers have investigated 32 fatal crashes for the year of 2010, resulting in 37 fatalities.
