Edmonson, Superintendent Troop E Press Release July 24, 2010 Two Pineville Men Killed in Crash Rapides Parish- Today, Louisiana State Police Troop E investigated a single vehicle crash that claimed the lives of two people on Williams Lake Road. According to investigating troopers, on July 24, 2010, at 10:49 a.m., 41-year-old Jeff Brossett of Pineville, LA, was traveling south in the 600 block of Williams Lake Road in a 1998 Chevrolet Corvette. Brossett was traveling at a high rate of speed when his vehicle struck a dip in the roadway. The vehicle traveled airborne, rotated, ran off the right side of the road. The vehicle struck a private driveway causing it to travel airborne again, before coming to rest upside down on top of a broken tree. Both the driver and the passenger, 44-year-old Patrick Murrell of Pineville, LA, were pronounced dead at the scene. Toxicology samples were taken from Brossett and have been submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for results. The crash remains under investigation. Troop E troopers have investigated 35 fatal crashes for the year of 2010, resulting in 41 fatalities. For More Information Contact:
