Edmonson, Superintendent News Release Date: April 23, 2010 Vernon Parish Serious Injury Crash Yesterday afternoon, a single vehicle crash seriously injured a man from DeRidder, LA. Troopers responded to the crash around 4:30 pm, which occurred on US Hwy 171 at LA Hwy 10 in Vernon Parish. The crash involved a 2001 Peterbilt, driven by Perry W. Anderson III (W/M 50 yrs). The Peterbilt was north bound on US Hwy 171 when Anderson III attempted to make a right turn onto LA Hwy 10. Anderson III turned too sharp, which resulted in the vehicle overturning. The Peterbilt was a loaded concrete truck. Anderson III was not wearing his seatbelt and received serious injuries. He was transported to Rapides Regional Hospital for treatment. The crash remains under investigation. Routine toxicology tests are pending.
