Edmonson, Superintendent News Release Date: April 27, 2010 Missing Man And Woman Found Dead Yesterday afternoon, a man and woman that were missing for three days were found dead in Sabine Parish. Troopers were dispatched to the crash site around 3:00 pm, which occurred on LA Hwy 191 south of LA Hwy 1218. The crash involved a 2003 Jeep Wrangler, driven by Charles L. Britt (W/M 57 yrs) of Noble, LA. The Jeep was south bound on LA Hwy 191 when it collided with a deer. The vehicle then exited the left side of the roadway, began overturning, and collided with several trees. Britt was not wearing his seatbelt and was partially ejected. His only passenger, identified as Wanda S. Leone (W/F 58 yrs) of Many, LA, was not wearing her seatbelt and was partially ejected. Britt and Leone were pronounced dead at the scene. On April 23, 2010, Britt and Leone were reported missing to the Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office. On April 26, 2010, an individual participating in the search located the vehicle at the above mentioned location. Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation. Troop E Troopers have investigated 23 fatal crashes for the year of 2010, resulting in 26 fatalities.
