Edmonson, Superintendent News Release Date: June 4, 2009 Crash Kills Three Young Men And Injures Another Last night three young men from Many, LA were killed and another one was injured when their vehicle crashed in Sabine Parish. Troopers responded to the crash around 9:30 pm, which occurred on LA Hwy 1217 north of LA Hwy 6. The crash involved a 1989 Toyota pickup, driven by Cody Remedies (W/M 19 yrs) of Many, LA. The vehicle was north bound on LA Hwy 1217 when Remedies lost control and ran off the left side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the vehicle collided with the edge of a driveway before overturning and colliding with a tree. All four occupants of the vehicle were not restrained and were ejected during the crash. Remedies, Wesley A. Eaves (18 yrs) of Many, LA, and Brandon Glover (20 yrs) of Many, LA were all killed as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. Jerry P. Koss Jr. (21 yrs) of Many, LA received moderate injuries and was transported to Sabine Medical Center for treatment. Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation. Troop E Troopers have investigated 31 fatal crashes for the year of 2009, resulting in 37 fatalities. Eighteen of the 25 fatal crashes (passenger vehicles only) have involved unrestrained motorists/occupants. Two crashes have involved a motorcycle, three have involved a pedestrian, and one has involved an off road vehicle.
