Woodworth Motorcyclist Killed in Crash

Rapides Parish – Early this morning, a single vehicle crash killed a man from Woodworth, LA.

Troopers responded to the crash around 6:35 a.m., which occurred on LA Hwy 496, west of LA Hwy 3054. The crash involved a 2015 Harley Davidson, driven by Aaron L. Arthur (W/M 28 yoa). The Harley was westbound on LA Hwy 496 when Arthur lost control and exited the right side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the motorcycle traveled down an embankment before striking some tree debris.

As a result of the collision, Arthur was ejected from the motorcycle and pronounced dead. He was wearing a helmet.

Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation.

Although not all crashes are survivable, properly utilizing safety equipment, like approved motorcycle helmets and seat belts, decreases your risk of serious injury or death.

Motorcycle awareness license plates are available through the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles. Please visit their website at www.expresslane.org for more information. Funds generated from the purchase of the plates will be used by the Motorcycle Awareness Campaign to increase awareness and promote/support training and education efforts for motorcyclists.

Troop E Troopers have investigated four fatal crashes in 2019, resulting in five fatalities.
