TROOP E NEWS RELEASE March 7, 2018 Unrestrained Many Man Killed in Four Vehicle Crash Sabine Parish – Earlier today, a crash involving four vehicles killed a man from Many, LA that was not wearing a seat belt. Troopers responded to the crash around 4:20 p.m., which occurred on LA Hwy 6 near LA Hwy 476. The crash involved a 2005 Ford Focus, driven by Bradley Paul Webb (W/M 31 yrs), a 2016 Mack (18 wheeler), driven by Joel Guerra-Rangel (O/M 41 yrs) of Tampico, Mexico, a 2017 Toyota RAV, driven by Alli Mitchell (W/F 23 yrs) of Many, and a 2017 GMC pickup, driven by Glenda R. McComic (W/F 36 yrs) of Many. The Ford was westbound on LA Hwy 6 when Webb lost control and crossed the centerline into the eastbound lane. This action resulted in the Ford colliding head on with the eastbound Mack. After this collision, the Toyota was hit by vehicle debris from the Ford and/or the Mack. The GMC was then struck by the Ford. Webb was not wearing his seat belt and was pronounced dead. Guerra-Rangel was wearing his seat belt and received minor injuries. He was transported to Sabine Medical Center for treatment. Mitchell was wearing her seat belt and received minor injuries. She refused medical attention. McComic was wearing her seat belt and received minor injuries. She refused medical attention. Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation. Louisiana State Police would like to take this opportunity to remind/inform motorists that properly wearing your seat belt will dramatically reduce your chance of being injured or killed in a crash. We ask you to take one second to “buckle up!” Louisiana law requires that every person in a vehicle, regardless of seating position, always remain buckled up. Not wearing a seat belt remains the leading cause of death in motor vehicle crashes. Troop E Troopers have investigated five fatal crashes in 2018, resulting in five fatalities.
