TROOP E NEWS RELEASE
April 8, 2018
Unrestrained Trout Woman Killed in Crash

Grant Parish Late last night, a single vehicle crash killed a woman from Trout, LA. She was not wearing a seat belt and was partially ejected during the crash.

Troopers responded to the crash around 10:50 p.m., which occurred on LA Hwy 8, near Fishville. The crash involved a 2010 Mazda MZ3, driven by Misty Clark (W/F 37 yrs). The Mazda was eastbound on LA Hwy 8 when Clark lost control and exited the right side of the roadway before overcorrecting and exiting the left side. After exiting the left side, the vehicle collided with a culvert and began overturning.

Clark was pronounced dead at the scene.

Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation.

Louisiana State Police would like to take this opportunity to remind/inform motorists that properly wearing your seat belt will dramatically reduce your chance of being injured or killed in a crash. We ask you to take one second to “buckle up!” Louisiana law requires that every person in a vehicle, regardless of seating position, always remain buckled up. Not wearing a seat belt remains the leading cause of death in motor vehicle crashes.

Troop E Troopers have investigated 10 fatal crashes in 2018, resulting in 10 fatalities.
