REGION 3 NEWS RELEASE November 18, 2014 Troopers Arrest Chief of the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe Marksville, LA- Earlier today, Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigation/Alexandria Field Office (LSP AFO) arrested Joey P. Barbry (W/M 36 yrs) of Mansura, LA. Barbry is the Chief of the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe in Marksville. In September 2014, LSP AFO Troopers received information concerning Barbry. Barbry was allegedly obtaining CDS (controlled dangerous substance) prescriptions fraudulently, from multiple physicians. After gathering additional information and conducting a thorough investigation, LSP AFO Troopers obtained arrest warrants for Barbry. Arrest warrants were obtained in Rapides Parish and Avoyelles Parish. Barbry was subsequently booked into the Avoyelles Parish Detention Center and the Rapides Parish Detention Center. He was charged with obtaining CDS by fraud-doctor shopping, seven counts in Rapides Parish and fourteen counts in Avoyelles Parish.
