TROOP E NEWS RELEASE November 27, 2014 Anacoco Man Killed in Crash Vernon Parish – Earlier today, a single vehicle crash killed a man from Anacoco, LA. Troopers responded to the crash around 1:00 p.m., which occurred on LA Hwy 392 west of LA Hwy 111. The crash involved a 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis, driven by Robine G. Taylor (W/M 61 yrs). The Mercury was westbound on LA Hwy 392 when Taylor lost control and exited the left side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the vehicle collided with several trees. Taylor was wearing his seat belt, but was pronounced dead at the scene. Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation. While not all crashes are survivable, seat belts can greatly decrease the occupant’s chance of death and will greatly reduce the extent of injury. While the cause of this crash remains under investigation, distracted and inattentive driving continue to be leading causes of crashes in our state. Information on distracted driving may be found online at www.distraction.gov. Troop E Troopers have investigated 43 fatal crashes in 2014, resulting in 52 fatalities.
