TROOP E NEWS RELEASE July 8, 2014 Unrestrained Jena Woman Killed in Crash LaSalle Parish – Earlier today, a single vehicle crash killed a woman from Jena, LA. She was not wearing her seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle during the crash. Troopers responded to the crash around 12:20 p.m., which occurred on LA Hwy 127 south of LA Hwy 777. The crash involved a 2000 Ford SUV, driven by Amy L. Webb (W/F 47 yrs). The Ford was northbound on LA Hwy 127 when Webb lost control and exited the left side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the vehicle collided with a dirt embankment before overturning several times. Webb was pronounced dead. Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation. Louisiana State Police would like to take this opportunity to remind/inform motorists that properly wearing your seatbelt will dramatically reduce your chance of being injured or killed in a crash. We ask you to take one second to “buckle up!” Troop E Troopers have investigated 25 fatal crashes in 2014, resulting in 28 fatalities.
