| TROOP A NEWS RELEASE July 21, 2016 Unrestrained Glynn Man Dies in West Baton Rouge Parish Crash West Baton Rouge Parish – Shortly before 5:00 am on July 21, 2016, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop A began investigating a single vehicle fatality crash on LA 620 west of LA 983 in West Baton Rouge Parish. The crash took the life of 27 year old Aaron Walker of Glynn, LA. The initial investigation by State Police revealed that the crash occurred as Walker was traveling westbound on LA 620 in a 2015 Hyundai Elantra. For unknown reasons, Walker’s vehicle crossed the center line into the eastbound lane and ran off the left side of roadway. Walker’s vehicle continued off the roadway and came to a stop after striking a culvert. Walker was unrestrained and sustained fatal injuries as a result of the crash. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by the West Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office. Impairment is not suspected to be a factor in this crash but a toxicology sample will be taken from Walker for analysis. Louisiana State Troopers wish to remind motorists that all occupants of a motor vehicle must be restrained, regardless of seating position. While not all crashes are survivable, statistics show that the chances of surviving a crash rise significantly when properly restrained. Making good choices while in motor vehicles such as never driving while impaired, always ensuring every occupant is properly restrained, and avoiding all distractions can often mean the difference between life and death.
