TROOP E NEWS RELEASE July 25, 2014 Unrestrained Pineville Man Killed in Crash Rapides Parish – Early this morning, a single vehicle crash killed a man from Pineville, LA that was not wearing a seatbelt. Troopers responded to the crash around 1:12 a.m., which occurred on LA Hwy 1 north of the Poland community. The crash involved a 2003 Dodge pickup, driven by Todd N. Fogleman (W/M 41 yrs). The Dodge was southbound on LA Hwy 1 when Fogleman lost control and exited the right side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the vehicle entered a ditch before colliding with a driveway embankment and overturning. Fogleman was pronounced dead. Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation. Louisiana State Police would like to take this opportunity to remind/inform motorists that properly wearing your seatbelt will dramatically reduce your chance of being injured or killed in a crash. We ask you to take one second to “buckle up!” Troop E Troopers have investigated 28 fatal crashes in 2014, resulting in 33 fatalities.
