Louisiana State Police Arrest Office of Motor Vehicle Employee for Felony Theft

Avoyelles Parish – Earlier today, Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigation/Alexandria Field Office (LSP AFO) arrested Angelle Guillot Temple (W/F 33 yrs) of Marksville, LA, after an audit revealed missing funds.

LSP AFO Troopers received information and were requested by the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles (OMV) to investigate an employee for improperly collecting fees/fines owed to them (OMV) in Rapides Parish. The audit determined Temple manipulated the OMV computer system on over 30 separate occasions in the beginning of 2014. Auditors reported customers paid the fines/fees, but Temple's cash drawer did not reflect payment for any of these transactions. The total amount Temple defrauded the state, in Rapides Parish, totaled over $5,500.00.

In August 2014, Temple was transferred to the OMV in Avoyelles Parish. An audit in this office determined Temple manipulated the OMV computer system on several separate occasions in August 2014. The total amount Temple defrauded the state, in Avoyelles Parish, totaled over $1,700.00. A higher combined amount is expected upon the completion of the audits in both parishes.

Arrest warrants were obtained for Temple in Rapides Parish and Avoyelles Parish charging her with felony theft, injuring public records and malfeasance in office. She was arrested and booked into the Avoyelles Parish Jail.

Temple has worked for the OMV for approximately ten years. Temple’s thefts are against the state and she did not defraud any individuals. She has been placed on administrative leave.
