TROOP E NEWS RELEASE November 16, 2013 Unrestrained Young Woman Killed in Sabine Parish Crash Sabine Parish – Early this morning, a single vehicle crash killed a young woman from Goldonna, LA that was not wearing her seatbelt. Troopers responded to the crash around 3:00 a.m., which occurred on LA Hwy 474 west of Florien, LA. The crash involved a 2005 Chevrolet Impala, driven by McKenna B. Sanders (W/F 20 yrs). The Chevrolet was eastbound on LA Hwy 474 when Sanders lost control and exited the right side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, Sanders overcorrected her vehicle before reentering LA Hwy 474 and exiting the left side, colliding with a tree and a utility pole. Sanders was pronounced dead. Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation. Louisiana State Police would like to take this opportunity to remind/inform motorists that properly wearing your seatbelt will dramatically reduce your chance of being injured or killed in a crash. We ask you to take one second to “buckle up!” Troop E Troopers have investigated 44 fatal crashes in 2013, resulting in 46 fatalities.
