TROOP E NEWS RELEASE September 27, 2013 LaSalle Parish Sheriff’s Deputy Arrested for Forcible Rape and Battery Jena, LA- Investigators from the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations/Alexandria Field Office arrested LaSalle Parish Sheriff’s Deputy Clarence Breland Jr. (W/M 52 yrs) of Jena, LA, yesterday for forcible rape and battery. Louisiana State Police received information and a request from the LaSalle Parish Sheriff’s Office in reference to investigating an alleged rape and battery incident involving one of their deputies. LSP detectives immediately began an investigation by conducting interviews and gathering forensic evidence. After the preliminary investigation was complete, LSP detectives obtained an arrest warrant and arrested Breland Jr. Yesterday, Breland Jr. was taken into custody at the LaSalle Parish Sheriff’s Office and booked into the LaSalle Parish Detention Center without bond.
