Unrestrained New Llano Man Killed In Crash

Vernon Parish – Late last night, a single vehicle crash killed a man from New Llano, LA that was not wearing his seatbelt.

Troopers responded to the crash around 11:20 p.m., which occurred on LA Hwy 1211 south of US Hwy 171. The crash involved a 2009 Hyundai, driven by Brian Santana (W/M 39 yrs). The Hyundai was southbound on LA Hwy 1211 when Santana lost control and exited the right side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the vehicle collided with a tree.

Santana was pronounced dead.

Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation.

Louisiana State Police would like to take this opportunity to remind/inform motorists that properly wearing your seatbelt will dramatically reduce your chance of being injured or killed in a crash. We ask you to take one second to “buckle up!”

Troop E Troopers have investigated 29 fatal crashes in 2013, resulting in 30 fatalities.
