Unrestrained Woman Killed In Sabine Parish Crash

Sabine Parish – Early this morning, a single vehicle crash killed a woman from Many, LA that was not wearing her seatbelt and was ejected.

Troopers responded to the crash around 4:15 a.m., which occurred on Peg Leg Lane near Old Hwy 476. The crash involved a 1996 Chevrolet pickup, driven by Tammy L. Sanders (W/F 37 yrs). The Chevrolet was westbound on Peg Leg Lane when Sanders lost control and exited the right side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the vehicle collided with a culvert and overturned.

Sanders was pronounced dead.

Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation.

Louisiana State Police would like to take this opportunity to remind/inform motorists that properly wearing your seatbelt will dramatically reduce your chance of being injured or killed in a crash. We ask you to take one second to “buckle up!”

Troop E Troopers have investigated 32 fatal crashes in 2013, resulting in 33 fatalities.
