TROOP E NEWS RELEASE April 13, 2014 Many Woman Killed in Sabine Parish Crash Sabine Parish – Earlier today, a single vehicle crash involving a pedestrian, killed a woman from Many, LA. Troopers responded to the crash around 1:40 p.m., which occurred on LA Hwy 474 west of US Hwy 171. The crash involved a 2013 Toyota SUV, driven by Allison Lynn Alford (W/F 24 yrs) of Florien, LA and a pedestrian, identified as Shelli P. Bozeman (W/F 32 yrs). The Toyota was westbound on LA Hwy 474 when it collided with Bozeman. Bozeman was walking near the edge of the roadway, in the westbound lane of LA 474, at the time of the crash. Alford was not injured. Bozeman was pronounced dead at the scene. Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation. When walking near a roadway always make yourself visible to drivers by wearing bright/light colored clothing and reflective materials. Pedestrians that are walking at night should try to carry a flashlight for added safety. A person should always walk on a sidewalk, but if there is not a sidewalk available, you should always walk on the shoulder or if no shoulder is available, as close to the roadway edge facing traffic. Troop E Troopers have investigated 15 fatal crashes in 2014, resulting in 17 fatalities.
