TROOP E NEWS RELEASE March 18, 2014 Unrestrained Boyce Woman Killed in Crash Rapides Parish – Last night, a single vehicle crashed killed a woman from Boyce, LA that was not wearing her seatbelt. Troopers responded to the crash around 9:20 p.m., which occurred on Bud Nichols Road. The crash involved a 2006 Ford Taurus, driven by Shauna Beebe (W/F 28 yrs). The Ford was traveling on a straight portion of Bud Nichols Road, which is gravel, when Beebe lost control and exited the right side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the vehicle collided with several small trees and began overturning. Beebe was pronounced dead at the scene. Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation. Louisiana State Police would like to take this opportunity to remind/inform motorists that properly wearing your seatbelt will dramatically reduce your chance of being injured or killed in a crash. We ask you to take one second to “buckle up!” Troop E Troopers have investigated 14 fatal crashes in 2014, resulting in 16 fatalities.
