TROOP E NEWS RELEASE January 28, 2014 Teens Killed in High Speed Crash Rapides Parish – Last night, a single vehicle crash killed two young teens and injured five other teens. All the occupants were not wearing a seatbelt. Troopers responded to the crash around 9:00 p.m., which occurred on Rigolette Road west of US Hwy 71. The crash involved a 2011 Jeep SUV, driven by a juvenile (W/M 16 yrs) of Pineville, LA. The Jeep was westbound on Rigolette Road when the vehicle became airborne after traveling over a hill crest, due to being operated at a high rate of speed. Four of his passengers (all juveniles) from Ball, LA or Pollock, LA received moderate injuries and were transported to Cabrini Hospital and Rapides Regional Trauma Center for treatment.
