TROOP E NEWS RELEASE March 3, 2014 Unrestrained Boyce Man Killed in Rapides Parish Crash Rapides Parish – Earlier today, a single vehicle crash killed a man from Boyce, LA that was not wearing his seatbelt. Troopers responded to the crash around 10:40 a.m., which occurred Brown's Creek Road. The crash involved a 2013 Ford Focus, driven by David O. Cundiff (W/M 40 yrs). The Ford was northbound on Brown’s Creek Road when Cundiff lost control and exited the right side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the vehicle collided with several trees and a fence. Cundiff was pronounced dead. Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation. Louisiana State Police would like to take this opportunity to remind/inform motorists that properly wearing your seatbelt will dramatically reduce your chance of being injured or killed in a crash. We ask you to take one second to “buckle up!” Troop E Troopers have investigated 11 fatal crashes in 2014, resulting in 13 fatalities.
