TROOP E NEWS RELEASE March 11, 2014 Unrestrained Olla Man Killed in Crash Winn Parish – Yesterday evening, a single vehicle crash killed a man from Olla, LA. He was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected during the crash. Troopers responded to the crash around 6:30 p.m., which occurred on LA Hwy 124 east of US Hwy 84. The crash involved a 2004 Chevrolet Colorado, driven by Jarred Lynn Taylor (W/M 26 yrs). The Chevrolet was eastbound on LA Hwy 124 when Taylor lost control and exited the left side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the vehicle collided with a tree. Taylor was pronounced dead. Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation. Louisiana State Police would like to take this opportunity to remind/inform motorists that properly wearing your seatbelt will dramatically reduce your chance of being injured or killed in a crash. We ask you to take one second to “buckle up!” Troop E Troopers have investigated 12 fatal crashes in 2014, resulting in 14 fatalities.
