REGION 3 NEWS RELEASE February 1, 2016 Lafayette Attorney Arrested for Felony Theft Avoyelles Parish – On Thursday, January 28, 2016, Louisiana State Police Gaming Enforcement Division/Marksville Field Office (LSP MFO) arrested Jade R. Blasingame (O/F 39 yrs) of Lafayette, LA, for felony theft. Troopers received information in December 2015 in reference to criminal activity conducted by Blasingame. The criminal activity involved the act of writing checks to several gaming venues and then stopping payment on six checks totaling over $450,000.00. Based on information obtained from the investigation, Troopers secured an arrest warrant charging Blasingame with felony theft. Blasingame was then arrested at the Avoyelles Parish District Attorney’s Office and booked in the Avoyelles Parish Detention Center.
