| LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE News Release Date: January 10, 2008 Teen Seriously Injured In LaSalle Parish Crash On Thursday, January 10, 2008, at 7:45 am, Louisiana State Police Troop E responded to a serious injury crash involving two vehicles. The crash occurred on LA Hwy 124, milepost 20, in LaSalle Parish. The crash involved a 2001 Mercury Sable, driven by Ms. Brittaney Stapleton (W/F 18 yrs) of Kelly, LA and a 2007 Peterbilt (18 wheeler), driven by Mr. Jeffery Sones (W/M 42 yrs) of Grayson, LA. The Mercury was west bound on LA Hwy 124 and the Peterbilt was east bound on LA Hwy 124. Ms. Stapleton lost control in a curve and crossed the centerline. This action resulted in the Mercury colliding with the Peterbilt. Ms. Stapleton was not wearing her seatbelt and was ejected from her vehicle. She was transported to Hartner Medical and later LSU Medical Center in Shreveport for treatment of her injuries. Mr. Sones was not injured in the crash. Routine toxicology tests are pending.
