Former Allen Parish Deputy Arrested for Theft

Last month, after receiving a complaint from the Allen Parish Sheriff’s Office, detectives assigned to the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations began an investigation into incidents of alleged theft by a former Allen Parish sheriff’s deputy.

Troopers scrutinized gasoline purchases made by 43-year-old Patrick Buxton of Oakdale while he was employed as an Allen Parish sheriff’s deputy. Through investigation, it was determined that from July 2011 to May 2012 Buxton used a department credit card to fraudulently purchase 6,949 gallons of gasoline with an approximate value of $24,300.

On September 7, 2012, Buxton was arrested and booked into the Allen Parish Jail for malfeasance in office and theft over $1500. If convicted, Buxton faces up to 15 years in prison and an $8,000 fine.
