News Release – Region 2 September 14, 2012 DeRidder Man Arrested for Distribution of Child Pornography On September 13, 2012, investigators assigned to the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations, U.S. Homeland Security Investigations, and the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office conducted a search warrant at the residence of 65-year-old Robert McNamee of DeRidder. The warrant was the result of an Operation Child Watch investigation initiated by State Police detectives involving child pornography on McNamee’s computer. A search of McNamee’s computer revealed the presence of images of sexually abused children. McNamee was arrested for distribution of child pornography and booked into the Beauregard Parish Jail. If convicted, McNamee faces up to a $10,000 fine and up to ten years in prison without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence. At the time of his arrest, McNamee was employed by the Beauregard Parish School Board as a junior high school band director. The mission of Operation Child Watch is to rescue children from the potential abuse of child predators by targeting those individuals with sexually explicit images and/or videos on their computers. This is an ongoing effort, in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies.
