Sulphur man arrested for possession of child pornography

Today detectives assigned to the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations, with the assistance of U.S. Homeland Security Investigations and the Lake Charles City Police, conducted a search warrant at the residence of 25-year-old Donald Waller, Jr. of Sulphur. The warrant was the result of an Operation Child Watch investigation initiated by state police late last year involving child pornography being downloaded onto Waller’s computer.

A search of Waller’s laptop computer revealed the presence of child pornography. During questioning, Waller admitted to downloading the pornography.

Waller was arrested for pornography involving juveniles and was booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center where he is being held on a $25,000 bond. If convicted, Waller faces up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

The mission of Operation Child Watch is to rescue children from the potential abuse of child predators by targeting those individuals with sexually explicit images and/or videos on their computers. This is an ongoing effort, in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies.
