News Release – Troop D January 12, 2012 Three-vehicle fatal crash in Jefferson Davis Parish Jennings, LA – This afternoon, shortly after 1:00 p.m., troopers assigned to Louisiana State Police Troop D responded to a three-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 90 near Louisiana Highway 1126 about a mile east of Jennings that claimed the life of a Jennings man. According to investigating troopers, a Dodge pick-up truck driven by 53-year-old Aden L. Greek of Jennings was traveling west on U.S. 90 when the vehicle he was driving crossed the center line and struck an eastbound 18-wheeler head-on. Greek died at the scene as a result of his injuries. The driver of the 18-wheeler sustained minor injuries and was not charged. A third vehicle, driven by 29-year-old Lakesha Myers of Jennings, was traveling east behind the 18-wheeler and struck the rear of the 18-wheeler after the initial crash. Myers was transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries. Myers was charged with following too close and driving under suspension. Routine toxicology samples were obtained from the drivers and will be submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis. The crash remains under investigation. While the cause of this crash has not yet been determined, distracted driving is a leading cause of crashes in our state.
