TROOP D NEWS RELEASE August 11, 2014 Lake Charles Man Arrested for DWI and Drug Charges Lake Charles, LA- On August 11, 2014, at approximately 6:30 a.m., a Trooper assigned to Louisiana State Police Troop D attempted to stop a black Cadillac Escalade that was speeding on Interstate 10 Eastbound on the Calcasieu River Bridge. The driver exited Interstate 10 and refused to stop. He continued traveling on city streets in Lake Charles until he reached a residence on South Shattuck Street. The driver, 30-year-old Nathaniel P. Francisco of Lake Charles, stopped at the residence and was taken into custody without further incident. Troopers discovered Francisco had an active arrest warrant for 6 counts of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute a Schedule II narcotic (cocaine). The arrest warrant is associated with the “Operation 27” multi-agency narcotics investigation earlier this year. In addition to the warrant, Francisco was arrested for DWI 1st offense, flight from an officer, speeding (71 miles per hour in a 50 mile per hour zone), driving under suspension, and expired license plate. Francisco was booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center. Bond has not yet been set.
