| REGION 2 NEWS RELEASE April 12, 2013 Teacher Arrested for Inappropriate Contact with Student Moss Bluff, LA- On April 11, 2013, investigators with the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations were contacted by a parent concerned about inappropriate contact between their juvenile daughter and a teacher at Sam Houston High School in Moss Bluff. Troopers assigned to the Lake Charles office met with the complainant and the complainant’s daughter. During the interview, the girl confirmed that she was involved in a sexual relationship with the teacher. Text messages between the girl and the teacher, 37-year-old Lance Duhon of Lake Charles, contained explicit sexual content and were indicative of a sexual relationship between the two of them. On April 12, 2013, investigators met with Duhon. During the interview, Duhon admitted to inappropriate contact with the girl. Troopers arrested Duhon for indecent behavior with a juvenile as well as prohibited sexual contact between an educator and student. Duhon was booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center. Bond was set at $11,000. If convicted of both charges, Duhon faces up to a $6,000 fine and up to 7 ½ years in prison. | |||
