| REGION 2 NEWS RELEASE April 30, 2013 Troopers Make Narcotics Arrests in Sulphur Sulphur- On April 30, 2013, agents with the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations made two narcotics arrests at a residence in Sulphur. The arrests were the result of undercover narcotics investigations taking place in our area. Troopers arrested 35-year-old Shyla Freeman of Sulphur for false representation of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance (methamphetamine). Freeman previously sold a substance to undercover agents claiming that it was methamphetamine. The substance was subsequently tested and determined not to be methamphetamine. While at the residence, agents encountered 30-year-old Daniel Drounette of Sulphur. Troopers previously purchased methamphetamine from Drounette and had an active arrest warrant for her. At the time of her arrest Drounette was in possession of hydrocodone pills and Flexeril tablets. Drounette was charged with distribution of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance (methamphetamine) as well as possession of Schedule III and Schedule IV controlled dangerous substances. Both subjects were booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center. Bond on Freeman was set at $7,500. Bond for Drounette was set at $22,000.
