REGION 2 NEWS RELEASE May 8, 2013 Sulphur Man Arrested for Possession of Child Pornography In November 2012, detectives with the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations initiated an Operation Child Watch investigation that led to a search warrant for a residence in Sulphur. During the search, several computers were seized for forensic examination. No arrest was made at that time. During the investigation, detectives determined that sexually explicit images, including numerous video files containing child pornography, had been downloaded by 29-year-old Anthony Joseph Kinney of Sulphur. On May 8, 2013, Kinney was arrested for possessing pornography involving juveniles and booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center. Bond was set at $75,000. If convicted, Kinney faces up to a $50,000 fine and from five to twenty years in prison without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence. The mission of Operation Child Watch is to rescue children from the potential abuse of child predators by targeting those individuals with sexually explicit images and/or videos on their computers.
