Kinder Man Dies in Two Vehicle Crash

Jeff Davis Parish- Today, Louisiana State Police Troop D investigated a two vehicle crash on US 165 milepost 11 that claimed the life of a Kinder man.

According to investigating troopers from Troop D, on August 26, 2010, shortly before 11:00 a.m., a 2004 GMC truck driven by 57-year-old John Tramonte of Lake Charles, LA, was making a left turn from the southbound shoulder of US 165. Tramonte was attempting to access a crossover. A 2002 Honda three-wheel motorcycle, driven by 71-year-old Robert Brown of Kinder, LA, was traveling south in the left lane. Tramonte turned within hazardous proximity of Brown. Brown’s vehicle struck the left rear side of Tramonte’s vehicle.

Brown and his passenger were transported to a local hospital. Upon arrival at the hospital, Brown was pronounced dead. The passenger on Brown’s bike sustained moderate injuries. Tramonte was not injured in the crash.

Toxicology samples were obtained from both drivers and have been submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis. Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation. The crash remains under investigation.
