Edmonson, Superintendent News Release – September 13, 2010 Troopers Discover 154 Pounds of Marijuana on Interstate 10 Jennings -On September 12, 2010, troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop D stopped a 2002 GMC pick-up truck for a traffic violation on I-10 eastbound (MP 63) near Jennings. Troopers made contact with the driver, 33-year-old Gumoldo Sandovol, and passenger, 34-year-old Elido Arreyo Ramirez, both of Conyers, Georgia. Consent to search the vehicle was obtained and 154 pounds of marijuana was discovered in hidden compartments. After detectives with the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigation interviewed both subjects, they were charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana. Sandovol was also charged with improper lane usage and no driver’s license. They were released to the custody of the U.S. Border Patrol. ........................... Contact Information: Sgt.
