Edmonson, Superintendent News Release June 30, 2010 Fake Documents at Kinder OMV Land Four People in Jail KINDER - On June 29, 2010, officials with the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles contacted Louisiana State Police Region 2 Detectives in Lake Charles and reported several subjects were attempting to obtain state-issued identification with fraudulent documents at the Office of Motor Vehicles in Kinder. Officers from State Police Troop D and the Kinder Police Department responded and detained five Hispanic males. An inspection of the documents by detectives verified they were forged or fraudulent. Louisiana State Police detectives arrested Southeast Texas residents Hugo Gerardo Riviea-Cantu, 31, Marco Antonio Cruz-Morales, 32, Gerardo Ponce-Flores, 39, and Isidro Garcia, 29, for injuring public records, possession of fraudulent documents, and giving false information regarding lawful presence in the United States in order to obtain a driver's license. Each of the arrested individuals faces a potential penalty of two years in jail and a $2,000 fine. Federal immigration agents also responded and placed a hold on all subjects except Garcia. Once they have completed their state sentence, they will be turned over to the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement. A juvenile who was present was detained and released to his mother, Patricia Jacinto, of Baytown, Texas. The Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles and the Louisiana State Police will continue to work together to safeguard the integrity of state-issued identification.
