News Release – Troop D April 27, 2010
Crash in Jeff Davis Parish Critically Injures Teenager JENNINGS - Yesterday, at 4:56 p.m., Louisiana State Police Troop D investigated a two vehicle critical injury crash on LA 26 north of Jennings. Eighteen-year-old Casey M. Miller of Jennings was driving a 2007 Dodge pickup south on LA 26 when he crossed the center line and drove head-on into a 1993 Lincoln Town Car traveling north driven by Katrina Crader (34) of Jennings. A 15-year-old passenger in Miller’s vehicle was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected. The passenger was airlifted to Lafayette General Hospital in critical condition. Both drivers were transported to Jennings American Legion Hospital with moderate injuries.
Miller was charged with driving while intoxicated, vehicular negligent injuring, careless operation, and no seat belt. Toxicology samples have been submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab and the investigation is continuing.
