Edmonson, Superintendent News Release Date: June 10, 2010 Motorcyclist Killed In Beauregard Parish Crash Last night, a crash involving two vehicles killed a man from DeRidder, LA. Troopers responded to the crash around 7:25 pm, which occurred on LA Hwy 112 east of US Hwy 171. The crash involved a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban, driven by Jessie J. Calhoun (W/M 58 yrs) of DeRidder and a 1992 Suzuki motorcycle, driven by William E. Rollins (W/M 41 yrs) of DeRidder. The Suburban was west bound on LA Hwy 112 when Calhoun attempted to make a left turn into a private driveway. This action caused the east bound Suzuki to collide with the right side of the Suburban. Calhoun was not injured in the crash. He was charged with Improper Left Turn, DWI, and Vehicular Homicide and booked into the Beauregard Parish Jail. Rollins was transported to Beauregard Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead. He was wearing a helmet. Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation.
