Edmonson, Superintendent News Release Date: June 11, 2010 Calcasieu Parish Fatal Crash Last night, a single vehicle crash killed a young man from Elton, LA. Troopers responded to the scene around 10:00 pm, which occurred on LA Hwy 14 west of LA Hwy 397. The crash involved a 2002 Ford, driven by Justin Keith Stewart (B/M 22 yrs). The Ford was west bound on LA Hwy 14 when Stewart lost control and exited the right side of the roadway. After exiting the roadway, the vehicle entered a ditch, collided with a culvert, and began overturning. Stewart was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected. He was pronounced dead. Routine toxicology tests are pending. The crash remains under investigation.
