Edmonson, Superintendent News Release – November 10, 2010 Man Arrested for Possession of Fake Identification in Lake Charles LAKE CHARLES – Shortly after 2:00 p.m. yesterday, troopers with the Lake Charles Field Office of the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigation responded to a report of an individual attempting to obtain a state-issued identification card using documents that did not belong to him at the Lake Charles location of the Office of Motor Vehicles. Upon arrival, troopers met with the individual, 20-year-old Jefrry Gomez of Toco-Colon, Honduras. Troopers verified the Puerto Rican birth certificate and social security card Gomez presented were not his. Gomez admitted to entry into U.S. illegally through Arizona. Gomez was arrested by state police for giving false information regarding presence in United States to obtain government identification , (LRS 14:100.14) unlawful possession of fraudulent documents for identification purposes (LRS 14:70.7) and filing and maintaining false public records (LRS 14:133).
