NEWS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: S/T Stephen LaFargue Louisiana State Police Public Affairs – Troop D (337) 491-2932- Office May 8, 2008 - Motorcycle Fatal in Allen Parish (Allen Parish) On Thursday, May 8, 2008, at 5:27 p.m., Troop D investigated a fatality crash involving a motorcycle. The crash was located on LA 383 milepost 18, west of Kinder, LA in Allen Parish. The crash occurred when the driver of a 2007 Honda motorcycle was traveling south on LA 383. While traveling in a curve, the driver of the motorcycle failed to negotiate the curve and left the roadway of LA 383. The driver lost control of the motorcycle and was thrown from the motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle, 50 year old Adam Marcantel Jr. of Kinder, LA was airlifted to Lake Charles Memorial Hospital were he was pronounced deceased from injuries suffered in the crash. The driver, Adam Marcantel Jr. was not wearing a D.O.T.D approved protective helmet. Impairment is unknown at this time and standard toxicology tests are pending. The crash was investigated by Trooper Timothy Guinn. This is the 13th fatality crash investigated by Troop D this year.
