Edmonson, Superintendent News Release June 25, 2008 Fatality Crash in Calcasieu Parish On June 24, 2008 at 8:20 PM, Louisiana State Police – Troop D investigated a one-vehicle, fatality crash on U.S. Hwy 90, milepost 15, (west of Sulphur) in Calcasieu Parish. The crash occurred when a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by 49 year old James Warren Loveless of Lobelville, TN, was traveling west on U.S. Hwy 90. The motorcycle ran off the roadway and struck an embankment. Because of injuries suffered in the crash, Mr. Loveless was pronounced deceased at West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital. It is unknown at this time if impairment was a factor; however, routine toxicology tests are pending. Mr. Loveless was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. This year, Troop D has investigated seventeen (17) crashes that have resulted in nineteen (19) deaths.
