Eunice Woman Dies in Single Vehicle Crash

A Eunice woman died early this morning as the result of a single vehicle crash in Jefferson Davis Parish. The driver, Shasta Ann Fuselier, 31, of Eunice, La., was traveling north on La. 102 near Grand Marais Road in a 2005 GMC Yukon. For unknown reasons, the vehicle left the east side of the roadway. The vehicle then struck a utility pole and rolled over. During the roll-over, the driver became ejected due to the fact she was not wearing a seat belt. Fuselier was pronounced dead at Jennings American Legion Hospital. A routine toxicology sample has been submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab and the crash remains under investigation.

This is the fourth fatality crash investigated by Louisiana State Police Troop D this year.

Louisiana state law requires everyone in a vehicle to wear seat belts. Statistics show your chances of surviving a crash are much better if you are properly restrained. Please remember to always “buckle up.”
