LOUISIANA STATE POLICE COURTESY LOYALTY SERVICE Colonel Michael D. Edmonson, Superintendent News Release - Troop D August 26, 2009 State Police to Conduct Courtesy Inspections Louisiana State Police / MCSAP / TESS / Region II and Weights and Standards / Region II will conduct a courtesy inspection detail on Thursday, September 3rd, 2009. The courtesy inspections will be held at the Love’s Travel Stop on LA 383 just north of I-10 in Iowa, Louisiana, (I-10 Exit 43) between 8:30 a.m. and 3:00p.m. Troopers / Officers will conduct a “Level 1” inspection on commercial vehicles in accordance with federal standards. All noted violations will be issued warning notices and no driver or company will be fined. Any out of service violations noted will be repaired before the equipment leaves the inspection site. The driver will be provided with a copy of the inspection report. Vehicles that pass the inspection will receive a federal CVSA sticker. Participation, by drivers / companies, in the inspection is strictly voluntary and Troopers / Officers will make every effort to answer all questions asked by companies and drivers. Companies are invited to bring their trucks or just their questions. This event is a continuing series of free inspections that are designed to get a better understanding by commercial carriers and drivers of the laws and restrictions that govern commercial trucking. It is also designed to improve communications between law enforcement and industry.
