Edmonson, Superintendent News Release- January 21, 2009 Convicted Sex Offender Arrested in Lake Charles On January 20, 2009, the Louisiana State Police received information in reference to a Houston man living in Lake Charles, who was a convicted sex offender from Texas and had not registered with local authorities. Investigators learned Jerald Cleveland Fowler, 34 from Houston, Texas was living at 4410 Opelousas Street in Lake Charles and was employed at the Sonic restaurant on Prien Lake Road. Investigators also learned Fowler was wanted on a warrant from Harris County Sheriff’s Office in Houston, Texas. Investigators observed Fowler arrive at the Sonic restaurant on Prien Lake Road and arrested Fowler without incident and booked Fowler into the Calcasieu Parish Prison on the following charges: Fugitive Warrant for Child Sex Offender Indictment (Harris County, TX) Troopers learned Fowler has been living in the Southwest Louisiana area for three years; two of those years have been at 4410 Opelousas Street in Lake Charles. Troopers also learned children were residing at that address and the investigation has been turned over to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Department and the Child Advocacy Center.
